Fall Train Ride

Jason is always so good at finding fun things for us to do in our community. For the last year maybe two he has known about the Lions club train ride and wanted to do it. This year we made it happen. I would like to say we pulled it off without a hitch but... well for starters someone, we won't mention who, bought the tickets for the wrong day- to make it worse we didn't notice until loaded in the car on the way to the house of our friends who were joining us. Well it all turned out great because while our friends could not make it the next day Ellie and Wade who revel in being spontaneous were glad to join us. The ride is about 2 hours north of here and while we arrived in what we thought was plenty of time the passenger cars were all filled up and we almost had to ride in an open air car-which would have been freezing!! But fortunately we realized before most of the others that we could ride in the caboose, so we ended up getting prime seats. The ride was fun, and since we were up in the area we decided after to go take a look at some caves which were also awesome. Here are some photos from the journey-

Nathan loved being in something moving and not have to be strapped down.

The train stopped on the trestle right above this dam, it was pretty cool but a little scary.

Uncle Wade always willing to be silly to keep the title of coolest uncle, which nathan learned via popcorn this trip.

No wonder we only get the "spontaneous last ditch effort to find someone" invites- look at us!!! Am I drooling on myself?! And Wade was wishing for something with feathers. ;-P
